Moi in Soho sets a confident course through modern, Japanese‑leaning cookery shaped by fine British produce. The kitchen moves with quiet precision, favouring clarity of flavour and elegant balance over fuss, and crafting a meal that unfolds with an easy, considered rhythm.

It begins with the sea. Crudo brings bright, clean lines: oysters lifted by sweet sake and finger lime, and an Orkney scallop paired with green tomato and pickled seaweed. From there, the rice rolls on: yuzu trout maki, glazed eel and tamago, and expressive temaki such as crab with cucumber and yuzu kosho or toro taku threaded with daikon and kizami sansho. For purists, nigiri might arrive piece by piece, from otoro to A5 wagyu.

Fire and comfort follow. The grill and claypots deliver deeper tones in a 35‑day aged short rib with Roscoff onions and aged Dorset lamb cutlets brightened by coriander and citrus. On the side, simple pleasures sing: a fire‑baked buckwheat flatbread and warm sourdough with miso butter.

It is a menu that invites exploration, sharing and conversation, beginning delicate, finishing soulful. Make a date on Berwick street, settle into the flow, and let Moi do the talking.
