Sophisticated yet approachable Italian gastronomy in Paradise Row, Sager + Wilde exudes the same kind of rustic charm you could find in the Italian countryside. A gorgeous bistro accompanied by a fairytale courtyard makes it one of the best-kept secrets in London.

Indeed, it has truly made the historic arches it occupies home. With a signature domed roof, S+W have transformed this unique space into a communal dining room, furnished with beautiful dark wood to match the warm interior, quaint memorabilia and dozens of gleaming wine bottles lining the shelves. Celebrating the humble pleasures of quality food with great wine, S+W is a venue where all pleasures are catered for, all parties are welcome and every outdoor adventurer is treated to a leafy courtyard that feels worlds away from the busy capital.

It's the perfect setting to enjoy their thoughtful menu that places everyday, quality ingredients front and centre. To begin, crispy asparagus salad with added texture from walnuts and crostini, cheese platters with tantalising chutneys and charcuterie boards laden with delicious cured meats.

For mains, the selection is restrained but considered. Relish stellar cuts of meat with the ribeye and caramelised onion or porchetta with creamy mashed potato. Alternatively, give their fresh pasta a whirl with a simple spaghetti, courgette and lemon or the pork cheek ragu. Precise cooking that doesn't hide behind any theatre, S+W is about the innate pleasures of unpretentious, beautiful food.
