Naan & Co in Hotwells is a family-owned kitchen celebrating the breadth of Indian and Bangladeshi cooking.

A warm, easygoing charm sets the scene, while fresh, locally sourced ingredients and an artful hand in the kitchen give familiar classics a polished finish.

Small plates ease you in with malai tikka that melts with dairy-rich spice, crisp onion bhaji straight from the fryer. Up next are traditional curries step up with comforting swagger: a tomato-bright tikka masala, coconut-soft korma and house signatures such as desi butter chicken or a slow-cooked royal lamb shank, glossy with onions.

From the tandoor come smoke-kissed chicken tikka and on-the-bone tandoori chicken, while vegetarians find depth in saag paneer and chana masala. For rice lovers, the layered theatre of Hyderabadi lamb biryani and lucknowi chicken biryani brings fragrant basmati and gentle heat in every forkful.

Whether it is a cosy supper for two or a lively catch-up with friends, this neighbourhood spot rewards those who linger. Book in, follow your nose and let the tandoor do the talking .
