India's a big place, which means that Keralan cuisine is different to the kind of food you would find in India's Golden Triangle. Perhaps the thing the area is most famous for is dosas. This regional specialty fills crispy crepes with tantalisingly spiced fillings, from prawn masala to marinated paneer and ghee. Other starters include cashew nut pakoras, potato bonda and idli, a steamed rice cake served with sambar and chutney.

The main courses delve into southern curries like Kerala fish, chochin prawn, mutton curry, king prawn masala and a delightful mussel curry paired with tomato, onion and green chilli. You can also find familiar favourites like butter chicken, chicken madras and lamb bhuna if you prefer to play it safe.
