A Jewellery Quarter stalwart, The Lord Clifden has welcomed Birmingham diners for over 160 years.

Reopened in February 2026 with renewed energy, this Victorian pub blends original character with a fresh, modern feel. Named after a celebrated nineteenth-century racehorse, it remains a neighbourhood favourite where regulars and newcomers gather, and conversation flows from cosy corners to the hidden garden when the weather allows.

Step inside to find a kitchen enamoured with bold Indian flavours. Sizzling platters set the tone, from the regular mixed grill to the generous Lord Clifden special sharing grill, while timeless dishes - think chicken curry or lamb curry - brim with warmth and spice.

Straight from the tandoor, clay-oven favourites such as chicken tikka and lamb seekh kebab meet fragrant biryanis, easygoing wraps, and pub-friendly bites like masala chips and poppadoms with chutneys, before a sweet landing with gulab jamun or mango kulfi.
