Set in a Grade II listed building dating back to 1779, The Wheatsheaf is Bingham at its most inviting. A charming bar with flagstone floors, beamed ceilings and crackling log fires gives way to a modern, light-filled restaurant set in former stables. Awarded Pub and Cider Pub of the Year 2025 by Vale Belvoir CAMRA, as well as Food and Drink Establishment of the Year, it champions the best local ingredients with polish and heart.

The kitchen leans into British pub comfort while weaving in global accents. Small plates set the tone: an nduja scotch egg with tomato chutney, saffron aioli and parma ham crisps brings heat and crunch, while a beef brisket taco lifts rich meat with chimichurri, pickled jalapeño and spiced mayonnaise.

From there, plates stride confidently between rustic and refined. The lamb kofta bowl layers giant couscous, tzatziki, mint flatbread, pomegranate and pickled onions for freshness and lift, while slow roast pork belly pairs fondant potato with apple, maple vinegar and crispy chicharrones. Burgers range from a deli beef burger with double smash patty, pastrami, Montary Jack cheddar and chimichurri mayo to a fiery buffalo chicken burger, with the grill offering classics like sirloin steak and a hearty bacon chop.

To finish, Nottinghamshire honey panna cotta meets whisky soaked granola and cherry gel, or a white chocolate blondie arrives with raspberry and salted caramel ice cream. Cosy, characterful and welcoming for families too, this is a place to linger. Book in, bring your appetite, and let the good times simmer.
