Set in West Bridgford, Rawsha brings a modern twist to the flavours and textures of India, with a charcoal tandoor oven beating at the heart of its kitchen. Chefs from around the world collaborate here, shaping an inventive, globe-aware perspective on Indian cooking. It is a pioneering presence in Nottingham’s dining scene, championing technique, fire and finesse in equal measure.
The experience begins with sharing plates that tease and tempt: think cheese and onion bhaji with a molten edge, or malai chicken boti that is all tenderness and spice. From the coals, paneer tikka shashlick arrives with a smoky swagger, while afghani lamb chops whisper of Kashmiri spice and open flame. Comfort finds its stride in moti malai butter chicken and paneer butter masala, best mopped up with warm naan and, for a playful aside, a bowl of house fries.
Sweet moments are equally considered, from classic gulab jamun crowned with vanilla ice cream to kulfi ice cream in mango or pistachio. An espresso martini or a Brandy Alexander offers dessert in a glass, while masala chai and latte keep things cosier.
Polished and upscale, Rawsha asks for a smart dress, a fitting note for a fine dining room animated by the theatre of live fire. Book in, settle close to the glow, and let the tandoor steal your heart—one ember-kissed bite at a time.
