In Newcastle City Centre, Latif Indian Restaurant believes that memorable meals are as much about setting and service as the cooking.

Tucked near Clayton Street, its warm, intimate dining room, complete with a cosy fireplace, sets the tone for family suppers, date nights and lingering catch-ups with friends. Personal and attentive service ties it all together with easy charm.

The kitchen ranges across the Indian repertoire, from gently spiced tandoori and creamy masalas to medium-hot curries with layered aromatics. A plate of onion bhaji or chicken tikka opens the palate; mala soup soothes, while a mixed grill brings the embers to the fore. Special chaat offers a playful street food detour, and balti chicken lands with a satisfying sizzle.

For the adventurous, chicken bindiya or chicken tikka shahe tukra beckon alongside familiar comforts: biryani fragrant with spice, soft naan bread tearing into silky sauces, and homely aloo gobi. There are set meals for swift decisions and, for traditionalists, even chips make an appearance.

Everything is cooked to order, with the same care extended to takeaway and delivery within three miles of Central Station. Whether you settle by the fire or carry the feast home, Latif invites you to savour the moment. Book a table, follow your nose, and let the spice do the talking.
