Like walking into a Dickensian novel, this eatery is rustic and warm, keeping things cosy with dark furnishings, softly lit chandeliers and a multitude of candles. The interior might be very British pub-esque, but the menu sticks with Mediterranean classics. Starters are designed to whisk you away on a sunny vacation where you can snap open steamed mussels, crunch on bruschetta di Pomodoro and tuck into a pheasant and ham hock terrine.

Mains go one step further with braised short rib in a rich wine and porcini sauce, penne with a rich Italian ragu and sausages all the way from Tuscany that are served British style with buttery mash and oceans of meaty gravy.
