dinner

Set in the heart of Bayswater on Porchester Road, The Bengal is a contemporary Indian restaurant with a loyal local following and an open door to curious passers-by. Moments from Royal Oak and Bayswater Underground stations, it draws both neighbourhood regulars and London explorers with warm hospitality and a promise of authentic flavours.

The kitchen looks to Bengal and North India for inspiration, balancing comfort and craft. Biryanis, tandoori specialities and rich curries anchor the menu, with classics such as tandoori chicken and lamb samosa alongside king prawn puri and lamb puri. Casual bites find their place too, from a lamb tikka wrap to a paneer tikka roll, while crowd-pleasers like chicken tikka masala and butter chicken deliver depth and richness.

It is all underpinned by fresh ingredients, attentive service and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that reflects the vibrant, multicultural character of Bayswater. Whether meeting friends, hosting family or simply treating oneself, guests find an easy-going setting where quality takes centre stage.

Plan a leisurely supper or stop in after a day exploring; The Bengal is ready with flavour, warmth and a seat at the table. Follow the spice trail to Porchester Road and let dinner be the highlight of the evening.
