Cuisine: A La Carte, British
Price Point: Mains from £15-£30

With jaw-dropping views over the River Thames and Houses of Parliament as well as fine British cuisine, The Library is the last place you'll bury your head in a book.

The views aren't the only thing that makes this dazzling restaurant stand out. Inside, antique bookcases and ancient busts tower above you whilst the tables play host to pristine, white tablecloths, polished silverware and sparkling glasses. Put simply, Oscar Wilde wouldn't be out of place here.

Get your British on from the word 'go' with their ham hock terrine and stone-baked heritage beetroot, complete with creamy goats curd and chive. With just four mains on offer, you might think that choosing will be easy...but think again! On the menu is a slow-cooked Gressingham duck leg with a bean casserole, a smoked haddock gratin and saffron risotto with truffle and mushrooms.

Phenomenal meal at The Library! The food was delicious, a perfect combination of creative ingredients, beautiful presentation, and satisfying portions. We thoroughly enjoyed the multicourse tasting menu and recommend it highly. Service was spot-on -- friendly but not obtrusive. Very elegant yet understated surroundings; the evening ambiance was perfect for looking out the large windows over the Thames and Houses of Parliament. Overall our experience made for a very romantic and enjoyable dinner, which we'd highly recommend to anyone looking for a special night out.

A warm reception and attentive service helped us enjoy an exquisite meal at The Library last night. Timely courses with superbly presented and delicious food served in a grand riverside setting. Good value too. We'll be back. Thank you.

Perhaps one of the most beautiful and idealistic spots in London for a date, for a catch up or even for a special occasion! The setting is quite imply beautiful, and the staff could not be friendlier from the moment you enter until the moment you leave. It was the most relaxing and enjoyable dinner in a long time, it's unusual to find a restaurant with great ambience and yet not so loud you have to shout! ..It may be something to do with th fact that you have almost your own private section of 'the library'!

An absolute five star rating all round. A London gem.

Had a great time in The Library. A special restaurant worth to go at least once. The food was great from the starter to the desert. Every meal was presented beautifully and tasted heavenly.
Worth to note that the discount is valid only for the tasting menu. The waitress told this to us after spending 10 minutes to choose what to eat, but didn't regret to choose the tasting menu because it was very fulfilling and delicious.
Strongly recommended!

The library is inside county hall, an incredibly beautiful building, lovely stone exterior and wood panel interior. There are only a few tables all set quite far apart and most with views across the river Thames to the houses of parliament. A very special setting. The service was faultless. Very friendly and attentive staff. We had 2 taster menus, 6 courses each beautifully presented and delicious. This is a special place, enjoy!
