Bordelaise Surbiton

Bordelaise Surbiton marks the third chapter for this experienced team, following a decade in Tooting and a more recent opening in Ewell, now settled in Surbiton, it brings the relaxed charm of a classic French bistro alongside the confidence of a neighbourhood steakhouse, all delivered with a distinctly South West London warmth.

The kitchen leans into time honoured technique and generous flavour, opening with French favourites such as onion soup finished with gratin cheese and toast, or escargots baked in persillade butter, lighter options follow with a vegan quinoa salad mixed with kale, mint, chilli, almonds and lemon, or a hearty steak Caesar dressed with anchovy and parmesan.

Mains are comforting and assured, from a homemade confit duck leg served over a white bean and bacon casserole, to truffled rigatoni with wild mushrooms and parmesan, the grill takes centre stage with onglet steak and rib eye, best paired with beef dripping fries or a silky dauphinoise potato, alongside a traditional roast offering that rounds out the menu beautifully.

At the bar, classic cocktails meet a French accent, with serves such as an Earl Rose Tea or a Maple Old Fashioned, before finishing with a French cheese selection, Sauternes or Port, Bordelaise Surbiton is a welcoming place to settle in, enjoy excellent cooking and linger a little longer.
