Overview
Situated just a short walk from Ewell East train station, Bordelaise offers fine French dining in a warm, inviting setting. Slightly removed from the busy town centre, it rewards those who visit with refined French cuisine made using the best of British ingredients.
Named after the Bordeaux region, the menu focuses on classic French dishes with subtle British influences. Head Chef Adam, despite being just 20 years old, brings remarkable skill and creativity to the kitchen, showcasing exceptional produce with a particular focus on perfectly cooked steak.
Starters include traditional favourites such as escargots de Bourgogne, six snails baked in garlic butter, alongside seasonal specials displayed on the blackboard like grilled asparagus with sauce gribiche. Mains feature beautifully prepared meat and fish, from tender onglet or rump steak to delicate roast Cornish cod served with beurre barde, crushed potatoes and beurre blanc.
Desserts are equally impressive, with highlights including a warm salted caramel fondant and a rich hazelnut praline tart with clotted cream. With superb steak, a thoughtful wine list and an atmosphere that is both relaxed and elegant, Bordelaise is the kind of place that diners return to again and again.
