On the banks of the Thames in Waterloo, Gillray’s Steakhouse & Bar celebrates the great British tradition of steak with confidence and clarity.

The focus is precise, prime cuts sourced from a trusted family butcher and aged on Himalayan salt for added depth, tenderness and a subtle mineral finish. It is classic steakhouse cooking done properly, where quality speaks first and everything else follows.

The meal opens with familiar favourites given a polished touch, steak tartare lifted with parsley and mustard, or crisp garlic fried squid served with silky mayonnaise. From bavette to fillet, the grill showcases each cut with care, seared to a smoky crust and paired with timeless sauces such as green peppercorn and brandy or béarnaise.

For those looking to indulge, the porterhouse t-bone and côte de boeuf make a statement, while the steak burger layered with smoked cheddar and bacon in a brioche bun brings satisfying comfort. Triple cooked chips and smashed baby potatoes with parsley are exactly what you want on the side, and pan fried salmon with herb oil and smoked creamed leeks offers a lighter alternative without losing impact.

With its riverside setting, confident cooking and warm, attentive service, Gillray’s is a place to settle in, enjoy the view and let the grill do the talking.
