‘When you cook it should be an act of love’ - the brainchild of a certain Mr Raymond Blanc, his range of brasseries are always a sight for sore eyes. After all, mon chéri, this is food worth writing home about.

Serving up the perfect portion of elegant French chic, Brasserie Blanc boasts that modern glamour that always has diners wanting more. Over in Southbank, we are treated to a seductive saloon with low ceilings, intimate tables, glossy horseshoe booths and soft lighting, all of which creates an aura of luxurious intimacy. Should it be gorgeous weather, their summery patio, sheltered by a bower of hanging flowers, is definitely one for the romantics.

When it comes to the food, classic French cuisine is given the international treatment with influences from Africa, Asia and beyond. Pair your first glass of wine with a refreshing grilled squid salad with fiery ginger, spongey aubergine and chilli. Alternatively, the jackfruit fritters take their flavour cues from Thailand and the Mediterranean fish soup is intense with the taste of the finest local seafood and gruyere cheese.

For mains, the French classics are a masterclass in spellbinding flavour. Pan-fried stone bass is paired with the salty smokiness of chorizo and a smoked paprika and tomato sauce, marinated chicken is complemented by crispy sweet potato wedges and the finest Cornish beef is transformed into a sublimely juicy burger with all the trimmings.

The pièce de resistance of dining in central London, allow yourself to fall head over heels for Brasserie Blanc.
