Fadiga Ristorante Bolognese in Soho brings a poised slice of Emilia-Romagna to the capital. The kitchen looks to Bologna for inspiration, favouring slow-cooked depth and season-led simplicity, with occasional coastal flourishes that keep things lively.

To start, antipasti set a confident tone. Truffle polenta with wild mushrooms leans into silk and earth, while scallops au gratin arrive with anchovy salad and roasted potatoes for a neat interplay of sweetness, salt and crunch.

Moving to the mains, pasta is the headline act. Tagliatelle al ragù speaks in warm, familiar tones of fresh egg ribbons and a time-honoured sauce, while spaghettoni neri allo scoglio brings the tide to the table, brightened by cherry tomatoes.

To finish, the San Luca tiramisù layers coffee-soaked savoiardi and mascarpone cream with a delicate crisp of pastry, while the Tenerina offers a rich chocolate embrace.

Throughout, a refined, unhurried mood runs through the restaurant, making it the sort of place built for long conversations and second helpings. Take a seat, follow your appetite, and let Fadiga do the talking.
