A fine dining experience that is accessible to all, Kurt Zdesar and his team are committed to putting Nikkei cuisine on everyone's culinary consciousness.
Since 2013, Zdesar has been inciting amazement and awe with his innovative dishes that always keep diners on their toes. You'll find Chotto Matte restaurants in the world's most dynamic cities, and the London branch in Soho is a rare highlight. A bold mix of patterns, colours, and more make the perfect backdrop for a multi-sensory dining experience. The striped tiled floors, purple seating, orange booths and forest green walls shouldn't work on paper, but here they do. Walk around another corner and you'll find a jazzy, velvety lounge that's alive with fiery neon strips. There's always a surprise to be had here.
If you're not sure what Nikkei cuisine looks like, it's a unique blend of Japanese and Peruvian flavours. The menu is bristling with new things to try like spicy tuna crispy sushi, wagyu beef gyoza and chicken karaage elevated by a Nikkei rub that affords it a totally new personality.
The sushi bar is where the cuisine comes to life with offerings like deluxe nigiri topped with wagyu foie gras and fresh scallops, dragon rolls with an enticing unagi sauce and a fearsome tiger roll with flamed eel and corn tempura. If you want to go super lean, however, you must check out the raw bar where premium wagyu aburi, tuna tataki and salmon tostadas await. And whilst each and every dish might look like a work of art, don't be afraid to tuck in and fall in love with a whole new cuisine.
