Tucked away on a quiet Marylebone street, Ta’ Turu is one of Central London’s tiniest pleasures, a sliver of a room upholstered in velvety green banquettes where the aroma of warm crêpes sets a distinctly Parisian mood. Here, artisanal handmade crêpes and buckwheat galettes are crafted with traditional technique using French ingredients. On Fridays and Saturdays, the doors stay open until 9 pm, inviting passers-by to slip in for something savoury and a little sparkle.
The menu leans into simple indulgence and French polish. Whether you choose savory galettes or sweet crepes, you’re in for a treat with some of the most beautifully presented plates you’ll ever see. Signatures include TA’ RITA ROYAL, with truffle, Emmental and jambon blanc ham, and TA’ CHIARA, a pretty assembly of finely sliced prosciutto, sun-dried tomatoes, artichoke and parmesan shavings. Classics such as TA’ TONY, Ta Turu’s take on the quintessential French Galette Complète, keep things comforting. For something sweet there is TA’ LUNA with fresh berries galore or TA’ NORMANDE with home-baked apples, homemade cream with a secret ingredient and almond flakes. If you’re in the mood for a classic, then lemon and sugar TA’ ANNA will hit the spot. For early risers, scrambled eggs and omelettes, buttery croissants and pain au chocolat will create the best morning.
You can pair the crepes with French cider, champagne, wine or a Rossini made with fresh berries. There is also indulgent hot chocolate made by melting real chocolate, French tea, coffee and matcha. Try a matcha tonic or an espresso tonic for an uncommon combination. Settle into those green banquettes and enjoy a unique quiet corner in a busy city.
