dinner

In the heart of Hove, La Piazza channels the easy elegance of Italy and the Mediterranean.

The kitchen’s compass points to fresh, locally sourced produce and time‑honoured recipes, turning out rustic pastas, wood‑fired pizzas and seafood with a sunlit sensibility. It is food that prizes clarity and generosity, the kind that invites conversation as much as appetite.

Meals often open with simple pleasures: garlic‑kissed prawns or bruschetta piled with basil‑bright tomatoes—before giving way to hand‑twirled linguine. There is briny abundance in a seafood tangle, and a silkier mood in a carbonara enriched with pancetta, egg and parmesan, each plate anchored by quiet confidence rather than fuss.

Carnivores find comfort in a well‑seared sirloin steak or rich pork belly with mash and vegetables, while the pizza oven keeps classicists happy with margherita and pepperoni. Bowls of chips and warm garlic dough balls invite sharing, and families are thoughtfully considered with smaller takes on favourites.

To finish, British indulgence meets Italian dolce in sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel ice cream or a fudgy chocolate brownie with vanilla.

This is the the sort of spot that quickly becomes a habit. Book a table, bring good company, and let the Mediterranean mood roll in like a gentle tide.
