dinner

Set in the heart of Cuckfield, The Talbot is a village favourite with a knack for easy-going charm.

Its cosy interiors and lively ambience make it as fitting for an after-work gathering, all buoyed by a warm welcome.

In the kitchen, classic British comfort meets globetrotting flair. Nibbles might begin with homemade artisan breads for dipping in olive oil and balsamic, or marinated olives with feta. Starters move from silky mushroom parfait with herb oil and crispy onions to Korean popcorn chicken, glossed in a spicy gochujang glaze with hot honey and a sprinkle of sesame.

Mains keep the mood generous and familiar: beer-battered haddock with peas and tartare for a textbook fish and chips, or a sirloin steak with chips, grilled tomatoes and mushroom. Burgers are a house strength, from The Talbot burger to the blue and bacon burger, while pizzas span a classic margherita to The Talbot spicy one, drizzled with chilli hot honey and ready for extra toppings.

With regular pizza nights, quiz nights and a relaxed, convivial rhythm, it is a natural choice for friends, family or colleagues. Settle in, raise a glass, and let The Talbot do the talking.
