Banana Wharf in Ocean Village charts a culinary course across global shores with a dockside of sensibility.

The venue draws its name and spirit from Southampton’s storied docks, where the famous Fyffe Company first brought bananas from the West Indies in the 1880s. More than fifteen years on from the flagship opening, the restaurant nods to that maritime heritage with large, decorative murals that capture the industry in full flow, while the waters of Ocean Village set an easy, convivial rhythm for long lunches and unhurried suppers.

From Indonesian nasi goreng to a blackened miso salmon fillet, flavours travel far yet feel right at home by the water. Nibbles such as crispy breaded chestnut mushrooms with roasted garlic aioli or spicy chicken wings invite lingering over drinks, while crisp, classic salads keep things refreshingly simple.

Comfort is well anchored too: think the wharf classic short rib burger alongside the Cuban halloumi, sizzling fajitas of chicken or beef, and hand-stretched sourdough pizzas ranging from margherita to the fiery Texan hot. Pasta lovers are looked after with penne arrabbiata and spaghetti carbonara, served with generous, no-fuss warmth.

Drop anchor at Banana Wharf Ocean Village and let the good times roll in with the tide.
