Tucked into The Polygon, Southampton, Moura's Portuguese Restaurant is a family-run homage to Portugal’s flavours and hospitality.

Established in May 2024, it draws on recipes handed down through generations, marrying tradition with a light contemporary touch. The result is cooking that feels lived-in and loved, served with the warmth of a home kitchen.

Seafood is a natural heartbeat here: rich seafood and tender bacalhau and grilled sea bass with a clean, coastal lift. The sizzle of grilled chorizo sets the tone, while a nostalgic frito misto of rissoles and croquettes nods to the country’s cafés. Sweet things carry equal pride, not least the freshly baked pastéis de nata.

For heartier moments, the house favourite is the francesinha, a Porto icon layered with steak and ham under melted cheese, finished with a signature beer-based sauce. Classic comforts sit alongside Portuguese staples, think Portuguese pork and clams in white wine, and there is an easy-going strand of burgers, wraps and crisp salads for modern appetites.
