El Kabron

El Kabron brings the spirited flavours of northern Spain to Manchester City Centre.

Settling into the former Bowlers Cafe on Mount Street just off Albert Square, El Kabron is launched by the team behind La Bandera, channelling the the convivial pulse of the Basque Country with a fresh, social take on dining that invites conversation as readily as it invites another round.

At its heart are the tapas: bite-sized morsels designed to meet a glass halfway, and plates built for sharing. Think patatas bravas with a lick of heat and alioli, calamares a la romana brightened with lemon, and gambas al ajillo humming with garlic, parsley and chilli.

For a fresh bite of the sea, the calamares a la romana and the gambas al ajillo in garlic, parsley and olive oil is sure to tempt. Meanwhile, the albondigas de la abuela is pure tradition with beef and pork in a meat sauce.
