dinner

Located in Barnes, The Base is a neighbourhood spot that delivers a welcoming atmosphere, offering a setting that suits everything from a casual bite to a more indulgent night out. Inside, the lighting softens, and the room fills with an inviting, easy energy.

The kitchen leans into a pan-Asian influence, delivering dinner options that are clean, balanced and full of character, with just the right amount of creativity.

Small plates set the tone, from crisp chicken gyoza with tangy soy to prawns lifted with yuzu, butter, garlic and chilli - each choice built around bright, well-defined flavours.

Plates bring comfort and depth. These include The Base Beef burger with caramelised onion, pickles and house sauce, alongside The Base Chicken, where Korean barbecue notes meet Asian slaw and gochujang-sesame mayo.

The selection continues with a classic chicken katsu curry that delivers crunch, while a salmon poke bowl keeps things fresh with citrus, cucumber and pickled ginger. Other standouts not to be missed are black cod and weeping tiger beef.

To complement the food, a considered beverage offering rounds things out, making The Base an easy choice for a catch-up or a more relaxed evening over good food. It's a place to settle in, share a few favourites, and return to time and time again.
