Italian bistro elegance on the inside, the idyllic leafy suburb of Hampstead on the outside, La Gaffe has been a cornerstone of the exclusive borough for nearly 60 years. Family-owned and operated, this is Italian hospitality at its best.

A charming time capsule that transports you back to traditional Italy, La Gaffe prides itself on perfection and its irresistible Mediterranean magic. Every nook and cranny of this esteemed establishment pays tribute to the bistros of old with beautifully upholstered furnishings, spotless tiled floors, classical art adorning the walls and crisp white tablecloths. This is the unbridled perfection with the warmth and joviality of Italian dining.

When it comes to the food, you can expect the same. To start, indulge in the likes of the finest crab meat with crunchy toast, pan-seared chicken liver punctuated with the salty deliciousness of feta cheese and a classic aubergine parmigiana. And sometimes, simple is best - that's where their authentic, garlicy bruschetta comes in.

By now, the tastebuds will be tingling in anticipation. Treat them to anything from pesto ravioli, clam fettuccine, mushroom risotto or a traditional salmon pancake with creamy ricotta. In terms of le carni, you're in safe hands. The mustard-marinated lamb rack is a mouth-watering feast and the Surrey farm fillet steak is enrobed in a green peppercorn sauce. For seafood sensations, how does a zesty seabream sound? And with that (and a final helping of tiramisu), welcome to Italian opulence in the heart of London.
