In Spitalfields, Galvin Bistrot & Bar channels Mediterranean warmth with London flair. Under chef director Arturo Granato, the mood's relaxed yet polished - a sunlit terrace for al fresco lingering, a lively bar for signature refreshments, and a friendly dining room.

The cooking speaks in generous tones. Early on, brie on toast, drizzled with truffle honey, and a confit lamb croquette with yoghurt aioli set an indulgent tempo, while the raw bar was kept glossed with truffle emulsion and aged pecorino. A gentle Italian heartbeat runs through plates like aubergine parmigiana and creamy burrata with truffle oil and balsamic vinegar.

Homemade pasta's a quiet showstopper, from Nerano‑style spaghetti to bucatini cacio e pepe, and the pizzetta moves from the purity of marinara to the lushness of Pio Tosini Parma ham with wild rocket, pesto and burrata.

Mains lean into substance - Welsh lamb steak with rosemary and Kalamata olive, a grass‑fed beef ribeye, or, to share, an aged t-bone steak or the catch of the day. Sides of French fries with paprika aioli and spring greens with chilli and sesame oil keep pace, before a finale of classic tiramisu or apple tarte tatin with crème fraîche.

To experience it firsthand, make a date, take the terrace or the bar, and let the welcoming atmosphere lead you in. Book soon and let the Med do the talking - one delicious word at a time!
