Housed within a Grade II-listed former school in Spitalfields, Galvin La Chapelle sets a majestic scene featuring soaring stone ceilings and grand arched windows that bathe the space in soft city light. The contrast with East London’s modern skyline only sharpens its elegance. Inside, Michelin-starred polish meets easy grace, creating a dining room that feels both special and comfortably assured.
Guiding the kitchen, Chef Director Arturo Granato steers a creative Mediterranean course anchored in seasonal, sustainable produce and bold, precise flavours. The opening gestures are confident: a Scottish lobster brioche bun pricked with piment d’Espelette, or duck liver parfait lifted by Moroccan spices and cherry chutney.
Plates unfold with quiet theatre, from Romana artichoke in tomato dashi with aged pecorino to cured Corsican seabass crudo sparked by spicy nduja and a refreshing watermelon dressing.
The momentum builds with principal dishes: wild garlic risotto brightened by Kalamata olive and preserved lemon, or barbecued Cornish monkfish in a smoked shellfish guazzetto with samphire.
Designed for sharing, centrepieces include Cornish Dover sole à la meunière or a Dedham Vale grass-fed côte de bœuf with smoked bone marrow and sauce bordelaise, while sides such as truffle-smoked Charlotte potato and a datterino tomato salad add considered finesse.
From intimate corners to celebratory tables, Galvin La Chapelle is made for memorable nights. Guests are invited to reserve and let the evening unfold - one graceful course at a time!
