Imad's Syrian Kitchen brings the warmth and generosity of Damascus to Soho, channelling homestyle traditions with a confident city stride. Aromas of cardamom and slow-cooked spice drift from the pass, promising plates that are comforting yet quietly poised, with freshness, smoke and citrus in easy conversation.

From early doors, breakfast beckons. Imad's Breakfast pairs soft scrambled eggs, avocado and halloumi with a lively mixed leaves salad, baked seeds crackers and black tea, while shakshuka bathes poached eggs in a tomato, aubergine and pepper sauce ready to scoop with pillowy pita. Bowls of hummus glossed with tahini, urfa chili and crunchy chickpeas sit alongside smoky baba ghanoj jewelled with pomegranate seeds, made for sharing. Sip Qahwah Syrian Coffee or Syrian Chai, or keep things bright with Homemade Lemonade and Damascus Iced Tea.

As day turns to dinner, deeper spices take the lead. Mudakhan Ghanam, a slow-roasted lamb shoulder over basmati rice with cashew, leans into comfort, while Beef Shaaqaf brings the lick of the grill with charred vegetables, aubergine and red peppers. For a sweet denouement, Noria and Warda layer crisp pastry with tahini cream, semolina custard and citrus. Settle in with Arak Brun or a whisper of mastic liqueur, or find Levantine lift in Laila Fustuqa and the zesty Za'atar Paloma. Gather your favourite people, book a table, and let the story unfold, a little London, a lot of Syria, and every delicious bite in between.
