Mortimer House Kitchen in Fitzrovia distils the spirit of Italian cooking through a London lens. Here, the kitchen celebrates simplicity and seasonality, drawing on the freshest British and Italian produce to create food that feels both generous and precise. It is the kind of place where the first bite nudges the conversation along, and the last one lingers.

The menu moves with easy confidence from cicchetti to secondi. There is the quiet comfort of truffle arancini and warm, homemade focaccia; the brightness of heritage tomatoes with pickled Tropea onion, basil and a whisper of balsamic. Primi bring silk and sunshine: paccheri in a three tomato sauce with stracciatella and basil, or crab tagliolini sharpened by lemon and fresh chilli. For secondi, think a tender beef sirloin with Tuscan salsa verde and beef jus, or the layered embrace of parmigiana di melanzane, with sides of roast potatoes dusted in rosemary salt and a fresh mixed green salad.

An inviting bar and a leafy terrace set the tone for leisurely dining from breakfast through to supper. Whether gathered family-style or tucked away with close friends, guests find an elegant calm that pairs London charm with Italian warmth.

Make a date, settle in, and let the conversation, and the focaccia flow. Buon appetito, London-style.
