Mortimer House Kitchen brings an elegant slice of Italy to Fitzrovia.

Its menu charts a leisurely path from cicchetti through antipasti and primi to generous secondi and dolci, stitching together northern comforts and coastal brightness. This is confident cooking, designed for sharing and a little lingering.

Begin with the simple pleasures - warm homemade focaccia to tear, and mushroom arancini with a lick of Grana Padano mayo. A burrata duet with figs, radicchio tardivo and pomegranate offers creamy richness against a pleasing bite, while wafer-thin beef carpaccio, rocket and a Venetian dressing keep things light on their feet.

Primi moves from silk-edged pumpkin ravioli with chestnut and sage to calamarata threaded with prawns, cherry tomato and chilli. For secondi, Nonna’s beef and oregano meatballs meet Grana Padano polenta and a sprinkle of pangrattato, while a classic melanzane alla parmigiana offers a rich, melted heart of buffalo mozzarella and basil.
