Souk

Established in Covent Garden since 1998, Souk brings the warmth of Morocco and the wider Maghreb to the heart of the city. Slow-cooked traditions and market spirit shape a menu built on spice, sweetness and generous flavour - food made for conversation.

Harira soup opens proceedings, its lentils and chickpeas lifted by gentle spices, while pastilla layers filo with chicken, almond and honey. Tagines offer comfort - from lamb with prunes and apricots to beef with roasted onion and potatoes. From the grill comes seabass dusted with Moroccan spices or a mixed plate of marinated chicken, lamb skewers and merguez.

Couscous anchors the table, topped with spicy merguez or served as a Royal couscous with beef and chicken. Plant-led dishes hold their own - a saffron-scented vegetable tagine, root vegetable and chickpea couscous, and bright salads from Casablanca and Marrakech.
