Modelled after the grand fine dining restaurants in Europe's fashion capital, Luci is bringing all the flare and drama of central Milan to Covent Garden.
They aim to take your breath away at every turn. Luci is split into two floors, connected by a stunning staircase that makes one feel positively regal when ascending or descending. The ground floor showcases a stunning 18-metre-long bancone counter so they can serve their fine patisserie in true Milano style. Upstairs is where you'll find the sit-down dining, and it's a softly-lit, intimate delight. Distinctively Art Deco in look and feel, polished dark tables are joined by singular lamps, all whilst overlooking Covent Garden itself through the arched windows.
There's no getting away from the sheer beauty of this place, and the food follows suit with artfully made pasta and pizza dishes. To begin, employ your fork to delve through mountains of cheesy spaghetti cacio pepe and tagliatelle with a slow-cooked beef ragu. Alternatively, venture further with lamb meatballs or the delicate seabass cartoccio.
Pizza is done exactly as they do in Naples over at Luci. Without overcomplicating things, they're allowing the integrity of the dough and the freshness of the Napoli sauce to sing with traditional toppings like Italian fennel sausage, taleggio, fresh vegetables, fior di latte and nduja. Tradition wins once again at Dolci with affogato and tiramisu, making Luci a gorgeous and authentic Italian hideaway in Covent Garden.
