In the heart of Melton Mowbray, Gurkha Express brings together Gurkhali spirit and tandoor tradition with a focus on aroma, texture, and slow-simmered comfort.

Their kitchen favours balance: the sweetness of tomatoes against the tang of tamarind, the warmth of garam masala offset by cooling cream, and grill smoke weaving through gentle spice. This is food built for sharing, lingering, and savouring the small moments between bites.

Opening notes set the tone. Onion bhaji arrives crisp-edged and deeply savoury, brightened with tamarind, while chicken tikka comes from the tandoor blushed and tender, its marinade singing of spice rather than shouting. From there, the fire keeps centre stage: the Gurkha platter leans into charcoal and char, with tandoori chicken and a generous tandoori mix grill bringing juicy cuts and satisfying scorch.

Comfort takes over in the curries. Butter chicken is silk-smooth, a tomato and cashew embrace, while garlic chilli chicken nudges up the heat with garlicky swagger. For timeless cravings, korma offers a gentle, nutty sweetness, and rogan josh arrives with a rounded, aromatic depth that lingers.

Gather your favourite people, follow your appetite, and let Gurkha Express Melton do the rest. Hop aboard the express and make a night of it.
