In the heart of Partick, West Side Tavern brings a nostalgic touch of old school New York to Glasgow’s West End. A watering hole and eatery inspired by the diners and dives of the Big Apple, it blends Italian-American comfort with a classic American eatery theme, the kind of place that feels made for catch-ups, celebrations and larger groups chasing retro vibes.

The menu leans into big-hearted flavours and familiar favourites done with polish. Think warm focaccia for tearing and sharing, or truffle and porcini arancini with velvety béchamel. Tavern-style pizzas set the tone – from sausage and peppers to the much-loved vodka pie – each one channelling that city-slice spirit.

Pasta and plates keep the comfort coming. There is rigatoni alla vodka crowned with whipped burrata, chicken parmesan bubbling in sugo and mozzarella, a tiger prawn linguini with a gentle chilli lift, and a bright courgette tagliatelle threaded with mint and lemon. It is food that nods to tradition while feeling fresh and convivial.

Dessert keeps it playful, whether it is a spoon-first dive into Tin-amisu or a clean, citrusy hit of Nowita olive oil ice cream. With convenient hours for early birds and night owls alike, this is an easy-going spot to settle in and savour. Book a table, bring your appetite, and take a tasty bite out of the Big Apple in Glasgow’s best borough.
