On Gibson Street in the West End, The Left Bank’s been welcoming diners since 2006.

The intimate space is arranged around shelves of vinyl and a Bose sound system, with music selectors on Fridays and Saturdays setting an easy, melodic mood. Food’s served throughout the day and into the night, making it as suited to lazy brunches as late suppers.

Step past the turntables to find a kitchen moving effortlessly between tradition and crossroads cooking, where Scottish staples meet global accents. All-day brunch favourites share the stage with international flavours. Think steak and eggs or fried chicken and waffles with sriracha maple, alongside small plates such as haggis bonbons and salt and chilli squid.

For heartier cravings, the menu delivers beer-battered haddock with chips and mushy peas or satay chicken brightened with peanut, lime and pickled cucumber, while the burger line-up ranges from a prime Scotch beef burger to a gochujang crispy chicken burger.

Plant-based diners are equally well looked after with dishes like burji masala tofu and a full vegan breakfast, backed by an inclusive array of gluten-free options. Lastly, save room for a sweet finish, stretching from a classic sticky toffee pudding to a summer Eton mess.

Settle in, let the music lead, and make a meal of it - a table here is food for the soul and a tune for the taste buds!
