Warm hospitality, honest food - and a destination worth the journey.

Since the 1700s, The Boarding House has been part of Howwood’s story. Once a stop for weary travellers, today it stands as an independent, family-owned village gastropub where locals and visitors come together to eat, drink and celebrate.

The menus are built around quality ingredients, authentic flavours and proper value - from pub classics like freshly battered fish and chips, steak and ale pie and burgers, to steaks, seasonal dishes and smaller plates. Everything is freshly made in-house by the chefs.

Expect genuine, personal village hospitality, a relaxed atmosphere and a place that feels just as right for a quick lunch or quiet pint as it does for dinner with the family or a special occasion.
