In Hotwells, Bristol, Indian Rassasy wears its name with purpose: drawn from a 15th-century word meaning to satisfy guests with a great meal, it sets out to deliver an authentic Indian dining experience with unfailing courtesy and hospitality. The kitchen charts a thoughtful journey from North to South India, inviting diners to explore regional flavours without leaving the neighbourhood.

Starters set the tone with gentle smoke and spice: Murgh malai kebab arrives velvety with cream, cashew and a whisper of cardamom, while Nawabi seekh kebab layers lamb and chicken with ginger, garlic and coriander. From the tandoor, Saloni salmon tikka brings bright, minted freshness, and the tandoori mixed platter offers a convivial spread for sharing..

Comforting classics follow with assured confidence. Old Delhi butter chicken is rich and silky in tomato, and smoked masala roast lamb shank is slow-braised to tenderness in a warmly spiced curry. Aromatic rogan josh and chicken tikka masala sit alongside biryanis built for lingering, while tarka dal and Punjabi bhindi masala provide earthy, satisfying counterpoints. Simple basmati and pulao rice keep things balanced, and a scoop of ice cream or a bowl of kheer brings a gentle finish.

Expect gracious service, well-judged spicing and a meal that lives up to its name. Find your way to Hotwells, take the culinary tour, and let Indian Rassasy do the satisfying.
