Rajastan Royal brings the warmth of South Asian hospitality to Downend, Bristol, with an ethos rooted in the simple idea that food is a blessing to be shared. Honouring traditional Bangladeshi cooking while celebrating wider Indian regional influences, it serves a menu that is slow-simmered, spice-layered and lovingly made.

Hearty signatures set the tone. The Beef Kala Bhuna arrives deeply caramelised and rich, while Railway Beef Curry pairs tender beef and potatoes in a nostalgic gravy. From the tandoor come fragrant classics such as Chicken Tikka and Lamb Tikka, their char and smoke balanced by bright, tangy notes. Starters like Prawn Puree hint at street-side comfort, while paneer tikka offers gentle spice and kiss-of-coal satisfaction.

Rajasthani Specialties make a proud appearance, from the generous Mix Bhuna Nawabi to the fiery allure of Lahore Lamb Chop. There is equal care for plant-led plates too, with the Pumpkin, Chickpeas, and Coconut Curry and a comforting Vegan Biryani. Biryani dishes and soft, tearable Rajasthani bread complete the picture, inviting leisurely mopping and sharing.

A neighbourhood Indian restaurant with a generous spirit, Rajastan Royal champions bold flavours and traditional craft. Settle in, pass the bread, and follow the spice trail one spoonful at a time. Book in, bring your appetite, and let the curry do the talking.
