Family-run and proudly independent, Haveli The Yard brings together the rich culinary traditions of Pakistan, India and Afghanistan in the heart of Bristol. Warm hospitality and authentic flavours sit at the core of everything here, creating the kind of dining experience that feels both generous and memorable.

The name itself translates from Urdu as “yard of a mansion” - a fitting introduction to a restaurant that blends grandeur with heart. Inside, local Bristolian heritage meets South Asian culture in a strikingly contemporary setting. Geometric light displays, modern seating and upside-down ceiling gardens give the space a distinctive elegance, making it just as suited to celebrations as it is to relaxed evenings with friends.

The menu explores bold regional flavours with confidence. Southern India inspires much of the offering, from a saffron-laced butter chicken to British lamb shank enriched with aromatic ginger gravy, and daily fish brightened with citrus and cumin. The tandoor turns out beautifully charred chicken tikka, seabass and prawns, while crisp dosas, India’s answer to the crêpe, arrive filled with spiced potatoes and onion. For the indecisive, a vibrant thali brings a little of everything to the table.

Uniquely, Haveli The Yard is an alcohol-free venue, offering a carefully curated alternative drinks list that complements the food perfectly. Expect refreshing mango lassis, creative mocktails such as the Mumbai 75 - bright lemon, honey and cardamom topped with sparkling bubbles, and a thoughtfully selected 0% wine range. It’s a considered approach that makes the experience inclusive without compromising on flavour or sophistication.

Indian dining in Bristol has stepped up a gear and at Haveli The Yard, every detail is designed to leave a lasting impression.
