Brighton's original vegetarian and vegan restaurant, Food for Friends delivers deliciously fresh and internationally inspired dishes in the heart of the Lanes. Founded in 1981, Food for Friends offers a warm and inviting dining experience where guests can enjoy ethically sourced produce in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Delve into mouth-watering cuisine full of imagination and indulgence, where the emphasis is on fresh and ethically sourced produce that is traceable and local where possible. Food is cooked to order, the majority of which is made on the premises including sides, desserts, and pastries. Offering flavoursome dishes with a great amount of consciousness and dedication, the restaurant seeks to cater to those beyond just the vegetarians and vegans among us.

Choose from a wide range of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free dishes. The menu highlights some favourites such as the crispy tamari tofu and vegetable tangine, but the menus change regularly and the head chef, Peter, is always creating dishes that are different from what is expected, always pushing boundaries and offering our guests a truly new experience in vegetarian cuisine.

Food for Friends offers a unique dining experience in the heart of Brighton. Affectionately knowing the bar staff as well as legal advice can be the norm here, often these guys get visited as part of the Brighton legal set and are a part of 'the furniture' at Food for Friends, general familiarity is what makes a great restaurant a great one. Come in, take a seat, and fall in love with vegetarian food like never before!
