Le Petit Bois means The Little Wood in English. Masters in elegant French cooking and experts in wine pairing, take the path less trodden, make towards the treeline and arrive at this illustrious eatery for a dinner you won't forget.
Considering its name, this restaurant is remarkably cosmopolitan. Located in the heart of Moseley, it beams out from the high street in a vibrant shade of blue. Step inside and the contemporary fairytale continues, with a chic bistro setup composed of bright blues and yellows. Exquisitely uniform and symmetrical, every lampshade, plush chair and sleek booth is considered, creating a nice contrast with the rustic wood panelling on the wall. Art Deco in look and feel, Le Petit Bois is taking us back to an era of glamour and opulence with their own signature twist.
The menu is a work of art, thanks to Head Chef Ben Taylor. To begin, indulge in exclusive ingredients like a cognac cured salmon with beetroot tart tatin, steak tartare with confit yolk and the trio to beat them all, pear with blue cheese and walnut. These are French flavours we have all fallen in love with. And the love affair has only just begun.
The main course serves sheer elegance and sophistication with a rich lobster thermidor served with crispy fries. Alternatively, choose other exclusive offerings like the blade of beef Bourguignon with a silky pomme purée or chicken with brandy cream and spinach. And with an entire cellar of French wines at your disposal, don't hesitate to ask your server for their pairing recommendations before you dive into a schmoozy chocolate fondant. C'est l'amour.
