Oud

In the heart of Moseley, Oud was born from a journey of seeking and discovering recipes untouched by time.

Chef Armaan Rafique travelled through India learning from the ground up: from small roadside dhabas to the homes of traditional cooks, within the heritage of Mughlai kitchens and the refined Nawabi traditions of Lucknow and Hyderabad. In the countryside, he uncovered recipes, each one a quiet lesson in patience, spice and memory.

Running alongside that path is another story: the deep connection between Indian and Arabic cultures, carried through history, trade, pilgrimage and Sufi traditions. This is a modern Indo-Arabic dining experience, rooted in remembrance yet intent on discovery.

The journey begins with nizami chicken tikka lovingly brushed with saffron, or emirati lamb chops scented with fragrant spices. If you're after something smoky and earthy, the zaatar mushroom tikka is your perfect beginning.

Plates speak in warm, resonant tones: from the homely depth of grandma's beef curry, a slow-cooked family recipe, to the silky comforts of Oud's butter chicken. Can't forget a plate of fragrant biryani with your choice of mutton, chicken or veg.
