The Lamb Inn keeps things fresh and homecooked, celebrating British pub fare with a seaside wink.

At the inn, enjoy their exceptional perch: ponies, donkeys and cattle amble past its door, and footpaths fan out within moments. With ample parking and a warm welcome for muddy boots and dogs, this traditional country pub is as much a waypoint for walkers as it is a destination for lazy lunches and unhurried suppers.

The kitchen keeps things fresh and home-cooked, celebrating British pub fare with a seaside wink. A well-made soup of the day arrives with a warm baguette and butter, while nibbles like homemade pork scratchings with apple sauce set the tone.

Hearty favourites follow: homemade steak and ale pie, battered fish and triple-cooked chips, or chef’s plates such as surf and turf with steak and scampi, and baked herb-crusted salmon. Burgers run from the signature Lamb Inn Burger to a buttermilk chicken burger, and the Lamb Inn ploughman’s gathers ham, stilton and cheddar with pickles, a boiled egg and a cup of homemade soup.

Lace up, follow the hooves, and settle in at The Lamb Inn; the forest is on the doorstep, but the real trail leads to the next delicious bite.
