Nestled at The Concorde in Eastleigh, The Moldy Fig pairs home‑from‑home warmth with a dash of jazz heritage. Photographs of the musicians who have played here line the walls, while rich wooden floors, deep sofas and a sociable bar set an easy rhythm. The dining room is relaxed and welcoming, often underscored by live music, making it as suited to lingering lunches as it is to laid‑back evenings.

In the kitchen, classic comforts meet sun‑seeking flavours. Think crisp halloumi fries with a sweet chilli lift, a Caesar salad bolstered by chicken or crayfish, and a Mediterranean vegetable puff pastry tart glossed with arrabbiata. Hearty plates nod to the great British canon, from beer‑battered fish and hand‑cut chips to pan‑seared calves’ liver with bacon and onion gravy. The signature flourish is unabashedly Cajun: crevettes and king prawns tumbled in white wine and garlic butter with Frank's Hot Sauce and Roquito Peppers, sided with Cajun rice and roasted courgettes.

When the sun shines, a riverside patio and woodland terrace invite al fresco appetites; inside, it is all about unhurried comfort, whether for supper, drinks or afternoon tea. Settle in, savour the music and the moment, and let The Moldy Fig show its easy‑going charm. Book a table and make a night of it, go on, give it a little jazz hands.
