Deep in the heart of central Oxford, Al-Andalus Tapas Bar serves up some of the city’s tastiest tapas.

This bustling restaurant brings the vibrant flavours of Spanish cuisine to the UK in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Opened by owner Shane Hanna in 2015, Al-Andalus quickly became a firm favourite with diners in search of an authentic Spanish experience.

Decorated in bright colours and soft lighting, the dining room feels instantly welcoming. Walls adorned with mosaic ceramics transport diners straight to southern Spain.

And it’s not just the atmosphere that whisks you to the Iberian Peninsula. Tuck into traditional tapas dishes from patatas bravas to albóndigas (herby pork meatballs). Other standout plates include salt-marsh goat’s cheese, saffron rice meatballs, and crisp fried squid with lemon.

Truly embracing the spirit of Spanish dining, Al-Andalus also offers an incredible selection of paellas and rice dishes. The paella a la Alicantina brims with chicken, peppers, and chickpeas, while seafood lovers will adore the paella de marisco, packed with fresh seafood and vegetables on saffron rice.
