Slice 'n' Brew

It started in lockdown, when chef Ryon began turning out pizzas from his back garden, fusing the chew and blister of Naples with the swagger of New York. Word spread through Nottingham, with popular pop-ups across the city, and in October 2022, Slice 'n' Brew planted roots in the city centre. The permanent home is a vibrant New York-style pizzeria with 46 seats across two levels, built on a simple promise - great pizza, quality ingredients and an accessible welcome.

The dough is the draw, carrying San Marzano tomato, milky mozzarella and basil on a classic Margherita, or taking a richer turn with the amatriciana, where guanciale, shaved onion, pecorino romano, black pepper and a lick of Aleppo heat mingle.

Small plates keep things lively, from coppa and pickles to truffle and pecorino nuts, while sides such as baby gem salad and crispy ratte potatoes with whipped ricotta complete the spread. Scotch bonnet honey, truffle, and parmesan dips invite a final flourish.

Desserts round out the experience with house gelato in ricotta and chocolate stracciatella or pistachio, or a slice of New York cheesecake with Negroni fruit compote. Soft drinks and sparkling refreshments accompany the meal for all comers.
