Fratellos Airport brings a generous slice of Italian-leaning comfort to Woolsington, Newcastle upon Tyne. The kitchen favours bold yet familiar flavours, weaving trattoria classics with modern crowd-pleasers. It is the sort of place where the first bite sets an easy tempo: unfussy, flavour-forward and keen on simple pleasures done well.

Openers nod to the peninsula and beyond: think beef and Chianti croquettes beside a Florentine fishcake, or a sun-bright Caprese salad balanced by the crisp bite of Caesar. Plates arrive with a sense of ease, inviting conversation to flow as readily as the courses.

For heartier appetites, slow-cooked lamb shank shares the stage with Tuscan sea bass, while the oven turns out pizzas from a fiery Diavola to a pitch-perfect Margherita. From the grill come a signature cheeseburger and steak frites, and there is room for daytime comforts like a chicken club or bacon and Brie. Sweet finishes keep things indulgent, rounding off the meal with a wink.

Relaxed, convivial and welcoming, it suits a swift bite as much as an unhurried sit-down. Gather friends, settle in and let the kitchen do the talking. Book a table and set course for flavour—no boarding pass needed.
