dinner

In Hale, Dee Thai brings the bright, balanced flavours of Thailand to the neighbourhood, led by citrusy herbs, creamy coconut and a confident lick of chilli.

Here, the kitchen prizes freshness and fragrance, crafting a menu that moves from nibbles and soulful broths to charcoal-grilled meats, vibrant salads and show-stopping seafood.

Time-honoured staples arrive with newfound clarity: think Thai prawn crackers to start, followed by chicken satay with a rich peanut dip. Bowls of tom yum kung and tom kha kai showcase an expert touch with aromatics, while plates such as kor moo yang nam tok and a spicy beef salad are lifted with lime and fresh coriander.

Over the flame-warmed woks and charcoal grills, beef Yaowaraj and charcoal-grilled neck of pork speak of smoke and savoury depth, matched by signature plates like volcano chicken and Dee Thai roast duck. Curries run from the jade-green classic to a creamy panang, while seafood lovers can look to jumbo prawns with tamarind sauce or a whole steamed sea bass.

Balancing the heat, lighter selections feature stir-fried pak choi, garden vegetables and a comforting mushroom soup with coconut milk.

Settle in, share widely and let the table fill with colour and aroma. Arrive with an appetite, and take your taste buds on a little Thai holiday, right here in Hale.
