Since 1990, Punjab Tandoori Restaurant has been a family-run fixture in the heart of Cheadle Village, known for authentic Indian cookery, warm hospitality and generous portions. Beloved by locals, it blends time-honoured techniques with the easy charm of a neighbourhood dining room.

From the first waft of the tandoor, the tone is set: smoky grills, freshly fired naan and roti, and vibrant sauces that carry depth rather than flash. Starters segue from crisp mixed pakora and delicate vegetable samosa to the aromatic hit of chicken tikka and char-kissed tandoori lamb chops.

There is theatre, too, in the sizzle: the chicken tikka sizzler and special mixed sizzler arrive audibly, piled high and fragrant. Comfort leans classic with chicken tikka masala and lamb garlic masala, while a South Indian thread runs through masala dosa and vada sambhar, bringing savoury warmth and satisfying spice.

Attentive service keeps the experience unhurried and convivial, whether it is a midweek treat or a family gathering. Community-minded to its core, the team look after regulars as well as NHS staff, and make it easy to enjoy favourites at home, too. Book a table, follow the sizzle, and let the spice do the talking.
