Its name carries a story of its own, gifted by Head Chef Mirko of sister restaurant Lievito Madre, who affectionately calls his closest friends and colleagues “Tirak”. That sense of warmth and kinship runs through the restaurant’s approach, where heritage is respected and creativity has room to grow.

The team behind Tirak weaves their influences with natural ease. Matt’s travels and deep love of Asian cuisine blend with Natalie’s Nepalese roots and a collaboration with Daisy Beale of Magic Momo, while Head Chef Marcus Kong leads the kitchen with precise, confident flair shaped by his time at respected institutions such as Nanyang Blossom and Khao Bird. What emerges is a thoughtful dialogue between tradition and modern technique.

On the menu, familiar favourites are reimagined with clarity and bold flavour. Crisp okra fries and silky black pepper tofu set an inviting tone. Chicken khao soi arrives layered with spice and comfort, and beef rib rendang leans into depth and slow cooked richness. Coconut and lemongrass steamed rice and flaky paratha invite a final sweep through the sauce. Desserts bring a gentle close with mango cardamom panna cotta or miso caramel cheesecake topped with toasted pecan.
